Companion Services in Castle Point
Castle Point is a relatively new district, having only been formed in 1974 when the Benfleet and Canvey Island districts merged. The name Castle Point pays reference to two key and marks in the district; Hadleigh Castle and Canvey Point.
Hadleigh Castle is the most important late medieval castle in Essex, dating back to the 13th century. Another point of interest in the area is the Canvey Island Transport Museum, which contains over 30 old district buses.
We have a dedicated team of Companionship Caregivers right across Castle Point and they love the area as much as you do.

Combating Loneliness With Our Companionship Service
Loneliness is becoming an increasingly bigger issue in modern society, particularly amongst the elderly. According to Age UK, in England over 2 million people over the age of 75 are living alone and more than a half of these people go over a month without any communication with their family and friends.
Research conducted across Europe, the USA and America found that loneliness was associated with a 26% increase with Alzheimer’s disease. The study also found that loneliness was also linked to a 105% increased risk of mild cognitive impairment, which can lead to dementia.
Loneliness is also closely linked to depression, which is also a risk factor to developing Alzheimer’s disease.
The knock on health impacts of loneliness amongst the elderly are significant, but can be avoided with a companion. Companionship care can tackle loneliness through providing day to day company, friendship and supporting elderly people to engage with the community.
